Cracker Cowhunter

The Florida Cowboy, better know as Cowhunters or “Crackers”, have a rich history. From the Kissimmee Prairie to the Cow Towns of Northern Florida the Cowhunter helped make the Sunshine State one of the largest cattle producing states. Even before the West was populated by cattle and cowboys, Florida had already established itself as a key role in the cattle business.

Our goal is to preserve this heritage by bringing to life the Cow Camps that the Cowhunter lived in and demonstrating the tools of their trade and their unique way of life.

Each event is positive, uplifting and usually really fun to experience. The life lessons and stories of the Cowhunter help teach children and adults that life holds many unique opportunities before us each and every day. It’s what we do with each opportunity and our talents that makes the difference.
